This project has been controversial in Pawtucket as it eliminated Morley Field. This athletic space in Woodlawn used to see a lot of activity some 10-20 years ago before the city created a new and far larger youth soccer complex on the eastern side of the city not that far from Slater Park. The Woodlawn neighborhood has little open space and the replacement green space the city just bought is in the adjacent and more affluent Oakhill neighborhood along the river just south of Centerville Stadium at Tidewater Landing. The new space is larger but further from Woodlawn.

Great post! I've been following this project & didn't think the area residents had any chance of stopping this project. I can imagine that they'll be increased truck/tractor trailer activity in the area, which will affect the quality of living.
