Can Fight Club - the Musical be far off? I'll bet Trent Reznor and the guys in Tool are working on the music and lyrics as I type.

You say this as if it would be a bad thing. 8)

Fuck me runnin'! I swear on my first edition hardcover that I didn't know about this.

With proper meds, I'll admit that this may be entertaining.

What's next, South Park on Ice?

No, it really wasn't that long ago that the Colonial, Shubert, Wilbur, Wang, and Charles Playhouse were routinely all lit at once, and the Charles had a rotating schedule of plays rather than being the permanent home of Blue Man Group.

Today's listing of cultural events on Boston.com, number of events in parentheses:

Community (6)
Other (5)
Sports & Outdoors (4)
Dance (4)
Food & Dining (3)
Fairs & Festivals (2)

And remember, these are only the things that are posted for today and posted on Boston.com. This does not include any other days, and does not include the countless smaller clubs, art-galleries, and basement concert halls around Boston. Not being able to find something to do calls to mind the old saying, made famous by the great Boston band, Piebald, who began their careers playing at the seminal music venue, the Middle East, "If you're bored, it's because you're boring."

It is funny that you are talking about the theater in Boston because as I read this I am sitting in an office over looking 42nd Street in Times Sq looking at the booming theater sceen. But I am also aware that there are many smaller theaters and clubs that have been shutting their doors in NY; CBDGs being the most famous. I can't say whether this is normal turnover or not because I really don't know the scene that well. I wonder what Boston could do,if anything, to attract shows. My sister works in the industry and is at a show or two every night, not even working. Perhaps it is just because NY is where it's at, theater wise that it is hardforany other city to compete. This is why I don't think you can really compare the cities.
