Boston East | 126 Border St | East Boston Waterfront

That's a high profile shovel line up for a pretty mediocre project....

CSTH -- I think the profile is so high because of the potential for that part of Eastie to become the South Boston waterfront of the last decade in the next decade or so

Obviously there are differences due to distance from the core, access to transportation and proximity to Logan

But there are several hundred acres that can utilized much more intensively than they are currently

Why on earth wasn't something ever done about that ugly eyesore that sits behind M'Donald's? It has sat there sticking out like a sore thumb for many years. Seems like it has been sitting there for eons!

The rendering on the first page seems to show some units having a balcony but seeing the pics above, I can't see where there will be any balconies.

^^^ I think the balconies will be between the wing like structures in the last two photos. There are sliding doors verses windows on floors 1 through 4 and on the front unit on the 5th floor. I wonder if the wings are to dampen the wind (?) coming off the water.

I'm kinda surprised they went with those wing/fin like structures. They look like they'd block some of the views of the water and block out some sunlight.

That was my thought as well -- waterfront windows with built-in view blockers?

To me, those fins are a total fail! With such great views of the harbor, every unit should have some sort of balcony without those damn fins! But the renderings show balconies without those fins in many of the units. I know what renderings show and what is actually built can be different but, still, with this location, to me, balconies are a must.

Wow, those fins on the balconies.. good for privacy (especially for those that are right next to each other), but terrible for the views. Given the trade-off, which would you have preferred?
