Гигантское сооружение, рассчитанное на проживание 15 тысяч человек, может быть построено в Бостоне. Проект BoA (Boston Arcology) предполагает строительство многоуровневой конструкции, внутри которой расположатся жилые объекты, офисы, гостиничные номера, магазины и музеи. Кроме того, здесь сможет разместиться городская администрация, сообщает Prian.ru со ссылкой на Inhabitat.
Выделять место под строительство не потребуется: объект будет находиться в бухте на специальной плавающей платформе. Сооружение сможет получать энергию с помощью солнечных панелей, а также ветряных и водяных турбин, что сделает его экологически безопасным.
Автором проекта является молодой архитектор Кевин Шопфер. Поскольку проект существует пока на уровне концепции, объемы вложений в него оценить сложно. Однако известно, что строительство займет около десяти лет.
Cхожее сооружение ? пирамидальная конструкция высотой 365 метров ? может в обозримом будущем появиться в Новом Орлеане. Предполагается, что в состав проекта под названием NOAH (New Orleans Arcology Habitat) войдут 20 тысяч единиц жилья, три гостиницы, офисные и развлекательные учреждения, медицинские клиники, три казино и прочие удобства.
Аркологами называются самообеспечивающиеся многоуровневые конструкции, которые могут вместить в себя население целого города. Само название является производным от термина "аркология" (архитектура + экология), которым обозначается архитектурная концепция, учитывающая экологические факторы при строительстве объектов человеческого обитания.

Only two nitpicky things:

-Cхожее = similar. You transliterated the word into Roman letters ("khozhee construction") but it's saying that a similar building is being "planned" for N'Orleans (riiight...).

-In the last paragraph, the "special multilevel constructions" are called arcologs.

Am I alone in actually liking this? I mean, yea it's huge and not the best looking thing in the world...but I really think it's cool.

I think I may just like it for the same reason as ablarc:

I like it for one reason, and one only: it dares to think big in a city that doesn't.

It's just so ambitious...and different. It's great. Construction begins next month, right?
