Anyone else upset that they no longer allow incognito mode. I might actually have to start paying for their journalism.

I'm actually surprised that it's only the Globe. I'm still reading the Times, Post, LA Times and SF Chronicle this way.

Try using a different web browser first. Then just keep clearing your history. It has worked for me until now. Even if they figured out a way around that, I assume the different browsers would still get access to 5 stories a piece.

Or you could just pay for a subscription. In the Trump era, we need journalists more than ever. A monthly e-subscription is $27, not bad at all.

You can go into your settings and delete your cookies for a particular website, so just delete your Globe cookies.

It's blocked in Amazon silk too.

As for paying, I would gladly except I know how hard it is to ditch a newspaper after you subscribed once. Unless someone can reassure me the old tactics are gone, I don't like the idea of subscribing.

is that what i'm paying for their yellow journalist propaganda?

we're doomed.

I looked into it this morning and apparently there's a Javascript feature that gets disabled in Porn Mode and that is how they are detecting that you are using it.

Blocking this using an ad/content blocker worked for me, YMMV:

Deleting your cookies should also work.

But yeah it's only a matter of time before JWH shuts it down, esp now that he got rid of the land that was the whole point of buying it from the NYT.

He hasn't gotten rid of the land and he's not shutting down the paper.

It's a lot easier than it used to be. I cancelled a paper subscription online even.

Remember, if you aren't paying for it, someone else is. And who knows how they choose to bias the news. The only sure way to get unbiased news is to pay to get beyond the paywall.

Christ, just pay for it. If it's a paper you're reading regularly enough that you surpass the "free read", cave in and pay for the service.

Then don't pay your rent and you too can stick it to the man
