Charles presents...The USA Retro Times

One thing worth adding: Emerson College's Tufte Performance and Production Center, which opened in 2003, now occupies at least some of the footprint of the old Gary. The Tufte building contains two small live stages, bringing the site back to its original use.

Thanks, Ron! Good point...glad you added that in:)

Hello, All!!!!

Today I have put together a look back at a "lost" theatre of Boston....The Plymouth...aka....The Gary.

Lots of great ads...articles...photos that cover 1911 to 1978...worth a look if you enjoy seeing what
Boston's theatre district had to offer at one time:)

Great piece on the Plymouth/ Gary. Very interesting. Thanks for posting it.

Charles, are you planning to do similar essays for other lost theatres?

Thanks to both of you!!!! I enjoyed doing the Plymouth-Gary Theatre update very much. And I am thinking a new blog might very well need to be launched. My USA Retro blog is rather a "catch-all" for various bits and pieces from our collective retro past but I am finding a need for a Boston area blog about lost buildings...like the theatres/ movie houses...to be created to fill the gap. I have loads of updates set for the Boston department store blog but I have just as many possible "lost" Boston updates that could be posted. The title of "Lost Boston" is a no-go....maybe "Once Upon A Time In Boston". I love investigating Boston's past and aim to please my readers:)
Thanks for all your ideas....requests...and inspiration!!!!!

Charles:rolleyes:
