I think we ought to be looking at making Charlesgate be the new western end of Storrow Drive, and make the start of westbound Soldiers Field Road be an off-ramp from I-90 westbound roughly 2000' south of the Soldiers Field Road / River St intersection. That would eliminate Soldiers Field Road from the constrained corridor just to the east of where that I-90 to Soldiers Field Road ramp would be and probably reduce the construction costs there somewhat.

The section of Soldiers Field Road that currently carries eastbound traffic under the BU Bridge could be repurposed into a westbound University Road to I-90 westbound on-ramp.
