The last women speaking in the video was hilarious. She's like, "I asked people what they love about Charlestown and they say it's not the city."
Made my head explode.

Not a Maura Healey voter? That building always had a lot of rats running around it...Finally something being done about 191 main st…6 units plus a retail space
I talked to a restaurateur who lives in Charlestown and he said the building's dimensions made a restaurant tough for the space. It was always empty…unless there was a campaign. Prime real estate too. Never understood it.
It’s probably an easement for an adjacent lot.
Well that's an interesting find. I wonder why the B&G club doesn't activate it as an entrance and instead leaves it for business parking spots...?View attachment 44573
The lot for the building is only 25' wide and the passageway is not part of the lot.
I don't pretend to know what "Charlestown Voice's" real motivations are, but it does seem to me that you could sell this building and use the proceeds to put up a lot more PSH units elsewhere in Charlestown (or elsewhere in the city). This site is basically on the Freedom Trail. Why not swap it for a bigger parcel closer to public transit?NIMBY ALERT
"Residents have voiced concerns about safety, the merits of the PSH model, and the idea that the project would work, considering aspects such as neighborhood services needed to fully support the individuals who might live in the PSH units and much more.
“There’s really a mountain of evidence that shows that permanent supportive housing has failed in California all up and down the West Coast basically,” said Mark Gallagher, a Member of Charlestown Voice, a group that has dedicated a website XXXX to the project."
