Deval "sprawl" Patrick?

The Patrick administration has done away with yet another program that encourages smart growth in Massachusetts. At least when it comes to growth and development and sustainability, the Tea Party may have found a new champion.

There isn't a great amount of information in this article. It is implied that this money is still there, but it may be the case that it isn't. As for why the person was let go, it is not clear that it was Patrick's supposed dislike of Smart Growth. As for being a friend of the tea party, I talked with some MA tea partiers about their feelings towards Smart Growth a few months back, and they are completely impotent when it comes to influencing things, so that was just a bad joke. And as for other states having taken up the cause of Smart Growth, most progress in the past few years has been at the municipal level, perhaps with the exception of California.
