I've got to say I agree with Lurker, the grittiness aspect is something I wouldn't particularly miss. Not to say affordable housing isn't necessary, it is, but it doesn't need to be a gritty commieblock. That's practically like putting people into zoos (prisons?) for our own urban viewing pleasure.

Somewhere in the forums is a nice long discussion of 'good' grit vs. 'bad' grit. I don't think we ever quite nailed down the specifics but most everyone agreed that a city needs a certain amount of 'good' grit.
