Proposed office/restaurant mixed-use building on Route 1 in Falmouth. This is the first proposal for the area since the owners pulled their much larger "town center" master plan a little over a year ago:

Well we will see if the NIMBYs allow for this to happen! I like it though. A good first step. Falmouth has tons of potential for development.

Current state of the first building:

And another building going up on the opposite side of the parking lot in front of Planet Fitness / Ocean State Job Lot - this view is from the Starbucks drive thru:

This building turned out beautifully at night, not a huge fan of the colors during the day but the lighting is outstanding. The signage along route 1 is well lit as well. Falmouth has plenty of potential to grow! As long as you get past the crunchies that complain about this “skyscraper” going in!!

Totally barren looking, at least by night.

A 5 story, 46 unit residential building is being proposed behind the northeast corner of the existing shopping center. This plan also includes a 2-story retail / office structure adjacent to Route 1

This project was approved by the Falmouth Planning Board at their recent meeting. Should be breaking ground on both buildings in the spring.

Are there any good conceptual renderings or massings of this whole project? I see the PPH article in the first post has some blobs on a 2D map, but hard to tell if this thing is gonna be cohesive or be a disaster.

I haven't found any, but there are a number of plans attached to the most recent meeting agenda packet.

If you go to this page, click on " 2023.01.03 Planning Board (Hybrid)" and it will open a pop-up window that includes the meeting recording, with the agenda and agenda materials if you scroll down. This is item #5:

IMO - missed opportunity to set both buildings closer to Rt. 1, with the parking behind the building and out of view. Falmouth wants this to become more of a traditional town center, but this continues the suburban strip-mall feel to the whole area.
