The Boston developer of the wildly successful Liberty Wharf on the waterfront has filed plans with the city for a residential complex in the Seaport District.
Cresset Development has proposed a pair of mid-rise buildings at 411 D St. that would replace a two-story industrial building, a warehouse and a parking lot with a 190 apartments on the upper floors with ground-floor retail and parking for 142 cars.
Under the plan, Cresset would build a six-story building on the north side of the 1.4-acre site and a five-story building on the south side.
Cresset has earned praise from the city and the public for the $30 million Liberty Wharf project, which includes three glass, wood and steel buildings that house Legal Harborside, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, Temazcal Tequila Cantina and Jerry Remy’s Seaport along the water.
