^ The roof of this particular home is a sad compromise. The original plan was for a thin-shell concrete structure engineered by Félix Candela. It would have been a glorious residential analog to Saarinen’s TWA Terminal. The scale and vision of this home are sensational, but there’s a much better Lautner just down the hill.
