Fort Point Infill and Small Developments

Hahaha.. yeah its as pretentious as it gets. I'm pissed I even said it. That is how they market it, though. I mean their main products are cheeses and fancy meats, which they use for the sandwiches, so maybe that's why? Either way, they make f'n sandwiches, haha.

That has to be one of the most empty and obnoxious phrases in the English language. How about "ingredients put between slices of bread by human beings"? Now if you'll pardon me, I think I'll craft a bowl of cereal for breakfast... Given war and pestilence I dont know why this pisses me off so much, but it does.

Tomb -- In a perverse way -- I know what you mean

When I was, as they say a mere lad, I accompanied my father on a visit to NYC
We took the train -- it was my first of many train trips
We toured all the usual suspect sites -- I had a blast
We went to the Automat -- I'm not even sure if it still exists -- But the idea I had was that it really was automatic -- I found out that people put the food into the space behind the door that you selected -- It crushed me -- I was hoping for a robotic food service

Ever since then -- whenever I hear "hand crafted" or the more recent "artisanal foods" -- I secretly pine for the robotic alternative

Why -- because if you want to have your portrait painted -- you hire an artist. However, if you want a mathematically precise and uniform paint job for your car -- you use a robot -- its more precise, faster, more reliable, and you don't need to pay extra for overtime

So if I want a fast sandwich -- automate the process as much as possible to speed-up the line and keep the cost under control

On the other hand, if I'm taking family or client to a fancy restaurant -- I definitely want the chef to lay hands onto the food

Although most startups keep a beer fridge stocked at all times, Seaport Hardware is currently being converted into a liquor and convenience store..

Where will I get my meth now???? I've been praying for a convenience store within QUICK walking distance for years.

The new place for adults to have a "tea party".

I'm hoping those aluminum walking bridges are either temporary or will be painted to a more suitable finish. All the nice throw back wood, and big silver metal ramps are a little silly.

It looks like it will be covered with some sort of canvas material over it (otherwise the arches are pointless?). Agreed, though, it looks terrible as is right now. Hopefully it gets covered up well.

That would have to be a pretty substantial building, I'd guess. What's the height limit for Channel Center?

I also think Channel Center and the lower A Street corridor are interesting due to much better T access via Broadway (Channel Center is really only a five minute walk).

Property owner Commonwealth Ventures is at BRA moving through early approvals.

Zoning (through Channel Center PDA) for this parcel is 150', so approval for height and land use (office) is already done.

I agree. It's pointless to have the arches without some sort of covering. I hope they go with a green, white, or blue canvas. Anything but yellow.

Heard from a property manager that this is a done deal, with 6K employees moving over to this location. Have you heard any updates?

Since I live/work in the area I'm very interested as I think this deal will have huge consequences.

Only rendering that I found doesn't look credible in the least.. but it's ArchBoston's worst nightmare.. One Marina Park Pt. 2 - http://bostonrealestate.citybizlist...-500K-SF-BuildtoSuit-in-Seaport-District.aspx

I thought it couldn't get any worse than One Marina Park Drive. I was wrong. They've apparently taken One Marina Park Drive and turned it over on its side.

Tell me this isn't the handiwork of CBT.

Render looks slightly better than One Marina Point, but wow, that flip is incredibly similar.

+ 1 Like - seriously, it's a great comparison.

Although it also looks like new Spaulding Hospital... which seems to have many fans in the forum.

It looks frickin' awful. I think it has to be clip art, and not a real rendor. I hope!
