I have a pretty good idea on all the proposed projects for Boston, but have reached the point of not knowing what the hell Boston is really going to do.
So if anyone of you supper dupper insiders would like to be a whistle blowers of intellect, lay out the REAL prospects of these projects and what will actually be built in an epiphany of the REAL. Barring my painful anecdotes, can anyone relieve my misery of NOT KNOWING.
Thanks a bunches...(skyscrapers included)...

That's basically the majority of what we do on this forum...speculate without knowing.

You guy don't actually know what's going to happen? You're all a bunch of stupids.

Well the cold fact is that we are all just enthusiasts. I don't know if anyone here actually works for a developer or the city but if there is someone they aren't talking.

We encourage anyone with inside knowledge to come forward and give us an insight into just what the hell is really going on.

This board doesn't do REAL talk. Save that stuff for the suits man. But we do serve up healthy portions of negativity and libertarianism.

Add your own!

For sure (most have already broken ground / under construction / almost done):

Filene's
Fan Pier (1st building)
Seaport Square (Phase I)
Russia Wharf
45 Province
The Clarendon
The Bryant
Two Financial Center
W Hotel
Paramount Center

I guess yes:

Chiofaro Tower (Aquarium parking garage)
Congress Street Garage
One Bromfield
Fenway Center (Rosenthal - Mass Pike)
Berklee School of Music proposal
Jacob Wirth's
Top of Newbury St / Turnpike buildings
Simon Tower (Copley Square)
McDonald's lot (Boylston Street)
Hayward Place
Kensington Place
120 Kingston
Prudential Towers (both)
Shreve Crump & Low
All 3 Bulfinch Triangle proposals

Oh, and of course ...

Columbus Center (you're welcome!)

I guess no:

Seaport Square (Phase II and III)
Fan Pier (further development)
Waterside Place
Pier 4
Tommy's Tower
South Station Tower
Nashua Street Residences
Jackson Square
Grandmark (Fenway dorms)
Madison Seaport Hotel

I think people discount the South Station Tower at their own risk. It is turn-key ready to go, right down to specific communications plans for the commuters and way-finding directions/signage during the various stages of construction. Hines has a track record of success with exactly this type of development, and they are on strong financial footing.

They are waiting for conditions to improve, as they should, but this tower is not a pipe dream like Chiafaro's Tower or Joe Fallon's Fan Pier stump farm.

No, no, no-please don't build SST it's so darn ugly!

And really unnecessary from an urban design standpoint. Still so many parking lots to fill.

It is my understanding that 120 Kingston is a go, at least as far as design goes.

I only know about the local jobs that my firm has a hand in. 120 Kingston is moving forward, but unfortunately as you already know the Copley Condo Tower is on hold.

I find this list............. "misunderestimated" (George Bush)...

Not bad, but I have to admit I'm bummed about SST and Tommy's tower.
