Has there ever been a proposal to run a train to the stadium from Worcester? It could run Worcester to Framingham, making all stops. Then the Framingham Secondary to the stadium. I feel like you could fill one train on that route.
Interesting. Do you have a source for that? Or remember how long ago that was?Serious proposal no, but there was an attempt by some people near Framingham to get a train from there. MBTA shot it down.
The T didn't say no. They were asked a little over a decade ago by a private business group (soon after the state bought the Framingham Secondary from CSX and started doing state-of-repair upgrades on it) about doing a Worcester game train, and the T agreed to do a non-revenue timing run to inform the service plan for the proposal. The business group ended up not liking the travel times they were quoted after the timing run and withdrew their proposal in-full. It wasn't publicized anywhere in the press, but was leaked on RR.net by employees aware of the proposal and the timing run.Interesting. Do you have a source for that? Or remember how long ago that was?
81 vs. 8.5 regular season home gamesl agree with your points. But then I think of Fenway Park, and how it adds to the city and to the life of the surrounding neighborhood. But Fenway Park has a much smaller footprint than the new stadiums of today, so the comparison is not a good one.
