That last one looks like an AI produced render, like if I told AI to come up with a colonial style design. There is just something odd about it.
The RAMSA buildings are fine but Klarman hall is a mess.

As a complex, I think that I would vote (the BSA award) for bro and little bro here... It's certainly not anything we are used to in Boston, but then that's probably why I like it. It feels like a bridge to the future.

‘The most beautiful’: Vote for Boston’s ‘best new building’

“BOSTON — If you have an eye for beauty, here’s your chance to vote for Boston’s “best new building.”

The Boston Society for Architecture has opened voting for the annual 2024 Harleston Parker Medal, which recognizes “the most beautiful piece of architecture, building, monument, or structure built in the metropolitan Boston area in the past 10 years.”

Established in 1921 in memory of Boston architect J. Harleston Parker, the annual honor is decided by a jury of professionals – artists, designers, architects, public servants and planners…..”

I sense a definite trend to what the BSA considers "beautiful". I respectfully disagree.

This comes across to me as a much worse version of mission rock in sf.

Side note, the tree house must be the largest mass timber building in boston now right?

That was more along the lines of the original scale before they shortened the tallest building here. Now it's all too short so it practically disappears until you're right on top of it. The 17 story tower doesn't stick up above the crowd at all. It's weird that such a large complex is pretty much invisible in the scheme of the city.

Agreed, especially compared to how much the site stuck out with all the cranes- it was super prominent in the skyline when those were standing and now you need to really know where to look to even notice it.

Yea Ive noticed that too, its basically impossible to see it unless youre on western ave or right across on memorial drive. Kind of a weird effect. I cant think of another building that is this tall that is so hard to see from anywhere. Not really sure the exact dynamics at play with elevations and things making this happen, but its definitely a thing. I feel like this also explains the serious lack of pictures so far either on this site or anywhere else.

Yeah it’s way too short and insubstantial. Even at street level.
