Hobson's Landing looks great at night! Architect / Developer avoided the dreaded "dead block" look a lot of buildings suffer on the first floor.

I'm so glad they did the curved corner. It almost creates a perfect end to the line of buildings on Commercial kind of like the Hay Building in a sense. More attractive this way.

Blows my mind that people were like ... but the lumber yard! It's okay that it moves, changes hands, consolidates.

Now look at that street view. Makes so much more sense for Portland. And it all fits right in beautifully. One word: Cohesive.

That does look great--do you think eventually that continues down Commercial and something with a similar brick face replaces the Circle K? A single gas station using an entire city block has always felt super wasteful to me

That would be nice. I'd love the see that street wall run all the way from the bridge, including the dirt parking lot next door.

I have to imagine the owners of that Circle K will want a pretty penny for the property. That has to be a super profitable store. It's the closest and most convenient gas station to downtown.

...not to mention serving the commercial traffic on Commercial St.

(That was also the site of the first Wex station, back when Wright Express was going to do cardlocks rather than credit cards.)
