My sister lived here maybe 20 years ago on the top floor. Was a fire hazard then. She also had a guy do an infrared check on the walls and ceiling ... there was zero insulation. The money she dropped on heating that place when right up and out the roof.
 
PPH story today reports Holiday Inn bought adjoining 87 High Street (with the red pin on it) for $2.5 million and are going to renovate it into a boutique styled addition. Jim Brady has been doing this all over town now with old buildings or spaces within. They are getting top room rates because they are designed as upscale small apartments. A friend of mine went to one recently to give a couple a private sound bowl session... "It was beautiful!" They were producers of a top Netflix Show and to them, spending $1,000 a night was nothing. So this metric, the city needs more upper end hotel rooms, is a good sign for the city's economic future.

I had to look up "sound bowl session"...didn't realize that was a thing, let alone the presence of a private industry that supports it :ROFLMAO:

Sorry, its primarily called "sound baths." I got one once not long ago. It kind of worked as I felt good for the remainder of the day. She does small groups on the docked cruise ships here too. And plenty of higher-end retreats up and down the coast. She's making bank 💰 with them too.
