Agreed-- the only part that would make sense would be the northern extension of 190 to NH and possibly the northern extension of I-84, but terminating at Rt 2/I-190 in leominster.

Eh, that would have been a downtown bypass, mostly along Park Ave, which admittedly does get pretty congested during rush hour. It doesn't go anywhere near the airport though, at least not anywhere useful in that respect. Gotta love the retardedness of having 146 go up to meet with 122 instead of directly meeting 290 like it does now. These guys must have really hated south Worcester.

Sorry, deleted the post after taking a closer look / comparison with google maps and realizing how far the airport still was. For the time, the proposal just as a bypass makes more sense.
