I am registered to vote as independent. Does this mean i am able to vote in the MA primary or not?

Question might sound stupid but i have never voted before!

Palindrome:

I've seen ads on TV very recently stating that as an independent you can walk into your polling place on voting day and ask for either a Democratic or Republican ballot. I would confirm with the Secretary of State's office.

^Ya, that is true. Both my parents are registered Independents, but they were allowed to vote for other parties.

I think that's how it works in the general election. But I'm almost positive that in the primary, to vote in for a Republican you have to be affiliated with the Republican party.

Thats how i though it was too, but i also saw the add commuter guy was talking about.

You can vote for any party in the primary's too if your a registered independent. That is what I was talking about

If you are registered independent (the actual legal term is 'unenrolled'), you can take any party's primary ballot on February 5. Doing so does not enroll you in the party.

This is good to know...I thought MA forbid this. Now I just have to decide which party is more worth screwing with...

I'm screwing with the Republicans, I think (unless I'm a registered Democrat). Just to be able to vote against Mr. Romney.

It's actually good strategy to vote for Romney if you'd prefer a Democrat to win but don't care which one it is. Romney is ultimately less electable than McCain.
