As stated, more double-deckers around in late October due to Salem's ongoing "Haunted Happenings" events - which is going to culminate tonight. I remember them bringing over some solid DD sets from the Southside to help out. The days leading up to Halloween and the day itself (no matter which day of the week it fell on) were crazy. Adding extra service, limited track space at North Station plus the single track situation at Salem station really pushed things to the limit. Extra long stops at Salem, even with management and T PD on hand. And this year, Halloween on a Saturday combined with great weather - I don't envy the operating department, especially the the dispatchers tonight!

So, kinda niche question. Based on the photos from the board meeting (& NE Transit's Roster), the newest batch of Rotems is being numbered as part of a new sequence - 400s and 1400s, despite being optioned off of the the previous 2022-24 add on +83 Rotems for SCR, which were numbered sequentially to the original 2012-14 cars in the 800s & 1800s. It kinda makes sense for the blind coaches - there'd now be enough of them that they would overflow into the Kawasaki's 900s number range - but theres plenty of space in the 1800 range for the 10 add on cab cars instead of going to the 1400s.
Are these newest coaches going to actually be meaningfully different enough to be operationally distinct?
