Should be taller given it's location but it is nice that it is mostly 1 bdrs.

Two of the buildings looks substantially complete, the third is well on the way. Couldn't get a great view due to this new fence they installed around the property, as well as a security guard parked in the driveway.

Project name is Wellington Woods - 320 Middlesex Ave, Medford - includes 6 buildings - 192 luxury condos - 20 affordable condos

Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty Lists 250,000 SF Development in Tufts University Neighborhood
Tufts-Land.jpeg

“MEDFORD, MA — Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty announced the offering of a 1.3-acre transit-oriented parcel located on Boston Avenue in Medford as an advantageous opportunity for R&D, life science and biotech developers.

Located ½ mile from the Tufts University campus, Tufts Corner is a 250,000 square-foot Class A project with by-right entitlements, offering premier access to both I-95 and I-93 freeways and proximity to many restaurants and retail services in Boston, Cambridge, Medford and Somerville.

Located along the MBTA Green Line Extension, the site qualifies as a “high-frequency transit location.”

“The City of Medford is very much committed to seeing a commercial development on the Boston Avenue site, specifically for life science and biotech,” added Alicia Hunt, Director of Planning, Development & Sustainability for the City of Medford. “The City Staff and City Council worked collaboratively to rezone the district to allow for density required by modern lab development. We are excited to welcome new investment to Medford.”

“The Medford Chamber of Commerce is excited by the prospect of a development being constructed in the O-2 district on Boston Avenue and the resulting economic benefits that would be realized by the Medford business and residential communities,” said Maury Carroll, President of the Medford Chamber of Commerce….”

I’m glad to see this site being marketed for development and we need more of this here in Medford. However, I take issue with the press release describing this site along the GLX. This is false as it is over 1/2 mile north of GLX along the Lowell Line, sited almost equidistant between Medford/Tufts GL station to the south and West Medford CR station to the north. Route 80 and 94 bus service run along Boston Ave, connecting to both stations (although the 80 pickup from West Medford station is on Boston Ave and not station adjacent on High Street). Hopefully there’s developer interest to move forward given the macroeconomic environment currently.

I guess technically it is along the glx, it’s just along the part that hasn’t been completed yet lol. For cost saving measures they cut out the mystic valley parkway/rt. 16 station and it is planned to come later. How much later who knows..

Yes very aware this was cut out of the GLX and hope sometime in the next 60 years we’ll see it extended to MVP.

And by your logic, imagine how many developers could market their site as “along the BLX to Lynn.” 😂😂

“MEDFORD, Mass. — A massive new beer hall with a sprawling outdoor space and nearly 100 brews on tap is slated to open in a Boston suburb later this year.

The Great American Beer Hall, a 17,000-square-foot tap room with an outdoor beer garden, will begin welcoming the public to 142 Mystic Avenue in Medford in late 2024, according to a recent announcement on Facebook.

Medford Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn said the beer hall will offer 90 different tap beers, burger and pizza vendors, as well as communal spaces to enjoy sports and entertainment on the big screen.

An exact opening date for the beer hall has not yet been announced….”

Nice to see that stretch of Mystic ave getting some good retail. I always felt this whole stretch is underdeveloped & underutilized. Feel like this whole street is ripe for housing development as well.
