I figured I'd make a thread where I (or anyone else who wants to) can show off cool photos of various metro systems. I'll start with some cool tile/paint schemes from Berlin:

Franz-Neumann-Platz (U8)

Paracelsus-Bad (U8)

Jungfernheide (U7)

Paulsternstrasse (U7)

If there's a moral here it's that a cool tile pattern can do a lot for an otherwise boring station.

I'll add a few from my international travels! Looking for photos I apparently don't make a habit of taking photos of the transit I ride, (though I seem to take plenty of the planes involved) but here's a couple that I could find:

Glasgow, and it's diminutive subway system, which hasn never expanded since it's opening in 1896, which makes it a year older than the GL.

Hong Kong, and its quasi subway railroad MTR East - they don't shy away from the cableways and industrial vibe.

I spent a few days in Madrid and apparently never took a single photo of the metro, but here's how you evacuate a broken Renfe AVE - via an incredibly steep little ramp.

Ditto for not taking photos of anything metro in Singapore- I blame the early stages of getting COVID - but this is the outdoor promanade covering one of their station entrances, containing one of the most spectacular TOD spaces I've ever been through - I'm told the entire thing is owned by the MTR, Singapore's metro. and apparently crosswalks that have card taps for the elderly so they have more time to cross the street.

Stockholm- maybe the only metro in the world where you can do a legitimate art tour in the metro (deep stations too)!

The beautifully bonkers Flintholm Station. Photo taken from the upper S-Tog platform serving line B, the lower S-Tog platform for line F, and metro lines M1/M2 visible on the other viaduct

Probably the 'rarest' one I have (and also my favorite), I took a lot of pics in Kharkiv too, here are just some, mainly the ones that don't have people's faces since I wasn't able to take many photos during the wee hours like I did in Kyiv.

Recently had the opportunity to ride the Sapporo Municipal Subway in Sapporo, Japan. A rare example of a rubber-tire metro system in East Asia. Feels very old school, but the trains are frequent and fast and I think the underground wayfinding is quite good.

At least one of the stations indicated approximately how many calories one burns climbing certain stairways!

Plus a bonus shot of one of Sapporo's trams!
