Central Falls looks to be following the communities of East Providence (now open) and Pawtucket (to be built) with plans for a new high school. The one mile city of some 22,583 (2020 census) residents is moving toward replacing its nearly century old home at 24 Summer Street. Unlike the old school, the new location would be situated next to the athletic fields that it uses.

The snow enhances this, but that building looks like it should be located in Nunavut or Greenland.
This is so true. It's giving remote for sure. Lots of buildings like this where I grew up in Newfoundland.

It is actually amusing that posters are using the term remote looking for something in Central Falls. The 1.2 square mile city has about 23k residents making it one of the most densely populated areas in New England. Nearly every sf of land in the city is developed with much of it devoted to rows of triple deckers on all its streets.

Sometimes perspective is good when evaluating things. The new CF High School will be a big improvement over its predecessor. It was crammed onto its site with little open space surrounding it. Had no outdoor athletic space for phys-ed and scarce parking mostly limited to a small lot built under a part of the later annex. It had an elderly high rise right behind it (that large parking lot between them was for its residents and not the school). Its new annex was pretty institutional looking and most of it was built close to the edge of the sidewalk with little to no green space.

It's 100% that photo and the choice of cladding materials that gives it that feel, more than its surroundings. To me, its look does give Amundson Scott vibes.
