It will have a footbridge directly to the orange line assembly line station so its definitely still transit oriented development.
The site is literally no further from Sullivan Station than much of the new Seaport development is from South Station. AND Silver Line Extension planning study route alternatives all ensure further transit connectivity through here (in addition to 3 existing bus routes, bus network redesign, complimentary ferry service via Encore Boston Harbor, and their whole shuttle bus operation. Finally, a city willing to buck the recent trend of urban, transit-oriented soccer stadia.

The Seaport doesn’t have any mass transit lines at all and the Silver Line is a bus with a marketing scheme. The site is literally no further from Sullivan Station than much of the new Seaport development is from South Station. This is an urban, transit-oriented stadium proposal.
1) That’s what dshoost88 is saying. The Seaport doesn’t have any mass transit lines at all and the Silver Line is a bus with a marketing scheme.
No it won’t and there is no “Assembly Line Station.”It will have a footbridge directly to the orange line assembly line station so its definitely still transit oriented development.
No it won’t and there is no “Assembly Line Station.”
We already have a forlorn suburban stadium where those games are being played.Well, since the World Cup is happening in the USA in 2026, maybe is not such a bad idea to construct a football soccer stadium. Chelsea is the spot
“A bit of a hike” is what absolutely kills transit mode share, especially when the “hike” is one of the most unpleasant stretches of river in the country.OP means Assembly (without the Line) of course. If the footbridge gets built, you could take it and cross the Casino to get to the Stadium. It's a bit of a hike, yes, but nothing major.
Okay, Boomer.“A bit of a hike” is what absolutely kills transit mode share, especially when the “hike” is one of the most unpleasant stretches of river in the country.
Have you spent any time in this area recently?“A bit of a hike” is what absolutely kills transit mode share, especially when the “hike” is one of the most unpleasant stretches of river in the country.
I'm younger than you and have all my hair.Okay, Boomer.
You mean by the Charlestown bus garage? No, I don't spend my time there.Have you spent any time in this area recently?
I was speaking specifically about your disparagement of the Mystic River. It's pretty well cleaned up, with attractive parks on both sides. That's why I asked. Since the answer is no, I suggest you go check it out, before talking about whether the walk is reasonable or attractive. You mean by the Charlestown bus garage? No, I don't spend my time there.
I'm older than everyone here and have 90% of my hair.I'm younger than you and have all my hair
So much passion! And they say Americans don't care about soccer...
Anyways, go Revs, build the stadium on the old oil tanks, run a few buses and a train and ignore the NIMBYs
Who cares? It's a decidedly inferior level of.. everything. Do we get on fans of Euro basketball that wear Lakers jerseys? It's too bad there are so many of these soccer fans that care more about a European soccer team than they do about their local MLS team.
