Google's 3D buildings include Schnitzer's current slag and structures, so I can't show the views, but the yellow line is a view line to Bunker Hill Monument. At the moment, it's blocked by a series of white tanks across the river.

The land parcel is 3.8 acres. Methinks that is too small for a soccer stadium, with associated parking.

Exxon also owns a tank farm on the north side of Beacham. That is 64 acres. But I doubt that site will offer good views of Bunker Hill.

The Orlando MLS soccer stadium, built in 2017, seating 25,000, is on a 10 acre site. Site does not include much public parking, but the stadium is relatively near Amway Center (home of the Orlando Magic) and Camping World Stadium (seating 60,000).

69 Rover St. is Schnitzer's City assessor says the land area is 30 acres. AFAIK, it is not for sale. Only the Exxon tank farms are up for sale.

Periodic reminder that everything in red below is in the "Mystic River Designated Port Area."

Land in this area is limited by State regulation -- not Everett regulation -- to only be used for "water-dependent industrial uses and commercial activities that rely on marine transportation or the withdrawal or discharge of large volumes of water." A stadium won't fly here per those Commonwealth regs.

The tank farm N of Beacham (W of the produce market and outside of the red DPA zone) could potentially work, but that won't have Charlestown views.

Also, when it comes to soccer stadium design: Intimacy & Acoustics >>> Views.

Orange line over the mistic will never happen. I could totally see the sliver line being extended beyond market basket though, ideally it should be extended into Kendall, but just to the orange line would be totally doable.

For some reason I thought it was for sale. I'm sure Kraft could have it for the right price.

I built my model off of the brand new MLS Stadium in Austin.

I’m all set on seeing the Bunker Hill Monument from Arbella Field (Or Revolutionary Clinics Field…Or whatever band they call it). It’s close enough to Boston. That’s all I care about.

While I don't actually dispute this, I feel compelled to point out that the first purpose-built soccer stadium I ever set foot in looked like this:

yea, been to loads of different types of soccer/rugby/other stadiums all over the world and you can definitely generate a good atmosphere in a partially covered stadium. I think the Three covered sides with one small open side for away fans is a good model. A lot of the newer MLS stadiums are kinda identikit bowls. Be good to eventually make something a bit different.
It's being a bit nit picky tho, I'd freakin love any SSS in the greater Boston area.

That's a great location for a stadium, I stayed up the street at The InterContinental years ago, Bosphorus is spectacular.

If they don't want one open end, use the river frontage for hospitality.
Evertons stadium on the Mersey is being built with hospitality views of the water and city. (now if only the team were good)
Actually, there's probably a lot of comparisons in this industrial dock site and what Kraft/Wynn might want to do.

lesseee. We need a new dam, a pedestrian crossing, a new train crossing, maybe even another car bridge. There’s dirty money flying everywhere from the casino to Kraft and god knows who else. I’m tempted to say let’s get building on the Mystic. Give the CLF some shakedown cash and summon the pile drivers.

Nah. I want all the other stuff. A stadium would be okay too -- better than a tank farm.
If I can convince a bunch of erstwhile hooligan soccer fans to think they want everything else and make them dodge the process with $$$ influence, well, they get what they want, but we get what we need.

I dunno? Many-a-times, I used to go with my dad as a kid on weekends to watch gas tanks in action. Also, we did youth gas tank things. My childhood dream was to breathe in CO2.
 
So... this weekend's news has elicited newfound interest in LNG exports to Europe. Not exactly the perfect place to have this discussion, but is there a sense that Everett's LNG activity will have increasing global interest?
