Since the topic of retail / shopping / dining / drinking has come up multiple times in multiple threads, I thought a dedicated space to discuss those topics would be beneficial

This is a thread to discuss new, proposed, hypothetical or speculative retail and dining in Portland

Here you go--this is exciting. And in between Argenta and Wilson BBQ will be a fun bar with a kind of new age dance area (recent change), with a large rooftop patio. Now that's cool. And it's all primarily because of 52 Hanover being built. I'd love to see Redfern do something like this, build a notable residential building opposite and up against something else already established with social life, to help the area improve (the Old Port social life doesn't really happen until you get down to Middle Street). Sometimes two things need to come together to create a more complete whole. But I think parking around here will be a bitch when the disco ball starts turning.

Argenta...

"New Age" dance area? I guess I'm not up on current club trends. Is there patchouli involved? 🤣🤣🤣

Don't know. Tantric, perhaps. But it will probably just end up being a place with fancy visuals, with everyone sitting waiting for someone to do something (i.e., Henry's Public House' funky dance space area, or room). The days of Studio 54 and that kind of hedonism are gone forever.
