As this becomes more popular and more projects happen around the country I think it would be nice to have a place to collect different projects in one place and see how successful they are and what works/doesnt and what looks good or not.

Heres a new project happening in georgetown, lots of projects happpening in the DC area.

I remember seeing this at some point and being impressed with the scale of the conversion, everything in Boston has been so small compared to this project in Philadelphia.

I wonder if Boston's slow push on this has to do with our seeming need for absolute perfection. I stayed recently at an AirB&B in Santa Ana, CA, that was obviously a residential conversion. As you can see from the image below, the floor plate is very much not ideal for a residential building, and the interior area was clearly underutilized. The residential units just wrapped around the outside, but each one was an apartment that didn't previously exist. It was totally fine, and a place I'd consider as a valid option were I to move back to that area of the country.

Maybe it's okay to not figure out yet how to use the interior portions of empty office buildings. Let's put in housing where we can, deal with the other questions later.
