Board approves preliminary plan for Pawtucket High School

PAWTUCKET – The plan for the new Pawtucket High School, set to rise where McCoy Stadium once stood, took a step forward last week.

I like that the plan has on campus athletic fields that include a separate football field, baseball field, and softball field. Neither of the present high schools has athletic facilities on campus. Tolman has he adjacent Goff Lots but it is not the proper size for any official sporting events and is only used for gym and practice. Most of its outdoor sports are held some 1+ miles away at public city venues. Shea has nothing on its campus but does have the Max Read facilities a few blocks away.
