I actually prefer the new one. If executed well it looks more architecturally coherent. And I also like preserving a uniform heightwall unless there's real rationale for breaking it - e.g., a stunning building that makes sense to go higher ... which the original rendering of this building is not.Wow, I like that original proposal so much better.

They are half assing this job. Sidewalk is nearly blocked with the part available with broken paving. Non-Union job so this is par for the course.Still not much to see here yet, but if you squint through the green fabric that screens the site, you can see that the foundation is substantially complete. I would expect this to go vertical soon. Unfortunately there are no gaps in the perimeter to get halfway decent picture.

I was recently in a hotel in NYC where that was almost true - In a small enough footprint that seems unavoidable.The perspective on that photo makes it seem like 1/3 of each floor is elevator shaft.
