Dear fellow urban enthusiasts,

For those of you not following the Portland projects threads (and if you're not a Mainer, I don't blame you of you're not), a Boston developer has proposed four 15 story residential towers with structured parking and 100,000 square feet of retail over a decade in the perimeter of downtown. Not surprisingly, some people are opposed. Somewhat surprisingly however the opponents are masquerading under the banner 'keep Portland livable' to block the project. The even have a nifty Facebook page with alternative design proposals (which look great but exist only in the abstract rather than reality). A Facebook page in support of the project had been started to counter this movement and it can be found here: https://m.facebook.com/portlandersforsustainability?__user=6903714

Please as an urban enthusiast visit and "like" this
Page. The planning board will be voting January 14 and although it shouldn't be swayed by public opinion there is a chance it may be. The public supports this project but the critics are always louder. Thanks for your support. Ask any questions below and ill answer. Thanks!

The project looks beautiful. Where exactly is the proposed location?
