Not avoiding anything, I just don’t think Biden is suited to do anything at this point in his life. If I had to pick, I’d say Romney. If I had to pick a Dem, I’d have to think longer, but I could probably come up with someone.
Pete Buttiegig, which is why he was chosen as transportation secretary. He has similar politics to biden, he's just younger and sharper.

+1. Thats the one I would say comes close - or Energy Secretary Granholm. But definitely Buttigieg.

The only deficit is that Buttigieg doesn’t have Biden’s 36 years of Senate and 8 years of VP-Capitol Hill emissary experience of walking those halls. So he’s only 44 years of experience in that particular arena behind Biden. Given his mental sharpness and Biden’s slower current fastball I’d give Mayor Pete maybe 3-4 years to catch up working Grassley/Graham/MCConnell/Cornyn, etc.

But right now? Buttigieg is in an apprentice program with that. He and Granholm were easily the two best picks the administration made. Both are top notch.........and their department portfolios overlap technologically. Which is why this will be a very interesting period - the advancement of new transportation technology could be very well supported instead of blocked at the fed level because two 21st century thinkers are finally in those Dept heads.

Wow, no amount of sarcasm can get be caught by your radar, evidently.
Honestly, I wanted to laugh at the comment, but I thought that would be rude if you were being sincere. Since our politics are extra dysfunctional these days, you really can’t be sure when some one is being sarcastic.
