Where the elevated walkway goes from a double wide to a singe wide for the journey to Gate 14.

Islip, but I only know because PWMFlyer posted the same photo here last month! 🤣

Update: The opening of interior portion of the terminal expansion has been pushed back to the second week of July with the ribbon cutting ceremony planned for the end of the month. The exterior work is just about complete and the new boarding bridges are fully operational with American utilizing Gate 12 a few times during the past few days.

With the offices moving, this does open the opportunity for a food court and lounge. There is alot of space once they relocate. Now let's work on the baggage claim rehab and customs area

TSA is going to move their staff into the abandoned jetport administrative spaces which will then free up room for new retail and a business class lounge in the Gate 5/6 area. The good news about the roof and relocation of the admin offices is that it does not hinder airport operations and most of that space (above baggage claim) is already gutted.

For those not familiar with the layout, PWM's administrative offices and operations center will move to the space above the lame "Welcome to Portland" sign which has been used for maintenance since the former restaurant closed. The director's office will then overlook Gate 1 A/B which will eventually be replaced with an elevated full service jetway.

Cool shot from last week where there’s a great visual of the new gates, they look so much better than before.
Also looks to be a busy terminal! United, Southwest, Avelo, multiple Delta, and JetBlue hanging out.
Any idea what Frontiers summer schedule will be?

PWM now has the appropriate number of aircraft parking spots and gates (14) to comfortably meet the needs of our current enplanement numbers with room for modest growth in the future. Now on to the baggage claim expansion and construction of the FIS facility! (y)

That is one long walk in a de facto tube to board the aircraft positioned at gate 14. I think now the Jetport has 5 or 6 decades of expansions all fused together like a Frankenstein monster? Only in Maine do we see this idea, or to this extent, a lack of planning for the future. The first thing the typical residents say, or yell, is "We don't have the money!" Instead, why not do it calmly: "We don't have the money yet, but we will find it." It's a mentality--or always has been--that creates more challenging problems down the road, or runway. Let's look at Maine Medical Center: I think it's now 8 or 9 decades of Frankenstein additions? Do a Google Earth view of it--kind of comical, really. The original section looks like something from the late 1800's. Is there a massive coal stove in the basement with men shoveling coal into it? And one of the latest buildings, the one with the helipad on top (sorry, forgot the ego namesake for it), was finished in 2007 and then two stories were added to the top a few years ago. And with the latest addition, while it was under construction--mid point--the hospital decided to add a full length top story!

I think the Jetport will see more terminal expansion relatively soon. Let's circle back in July, 2030 to discuss.

(2030... DailyMail headline: Traveling Mainers trapped in sweltering airport bridge! 62 passengers are taken to hospital with life threatening injuries, but then treated in the parking lot as the hospital is currently filled to capacity!)

Has Avelo already pulled the plug on service to New Haven? Have not seen any aircraft or flight listings for their Thursday and Sunday service and it's no loss if they have abandoned PWM in my opinion.

PWM-HVN is still bookable through August on their website. However average load factors aren't very encouraging.

The jetport website is behind on updating Avelo into the departures and arrivals, on another note, has B6 moved to gate 12 from 6? Or is the jetway at gate 6 going to be replaced?
