Personally, I think there are more than enough hotels near the terminal or in close proximity to the airport and will lose zero sleep if this project does not materialize.
Not sure I get the point of this graphic. A lot of these spikes have nothing to do with traveling to alternative airports but to hot destinations i.e. BZN-Bozeman. It serves not only heavily for tourists but increasingly business as the area grows exponentially and is not an alternative solution to another airport. Jackson Hole is almost strictly tourist traffic. The rest of Wyoming commonly uses Denver and Billings for air service. North Dakota .... well ... is North Dakota. Did ya hear the one about Sven and Olie?Jackson Hole is a mainly tourist destination though. I looked up Cheyenne, and it's ranked in the 300's, as are Sheridan and Gillette, which are both slightly busier and on the I-90 corridor.
Maine: We can't cut any trees down or clear any land for new housing.Great pics!
Maine: "Move here and bring your remote work with you!" (See pic xx36246)
Also Maine: "We have a housing crisis and no place for the people who work here to live!"

Clear Channel runs the advertising at the jetport. I think their contract is up for renewal. Does anyone know?I realize that Boston is x10 bigger than Portland in city and metro populations, but they always seem to get things right. Why? Why would PWM give up this kind of space for dumb advertising? Is it that desperate? It's not unlike the "Civic Center" being plastered all over its sides with "Cross..." this and "Cross..." that.

No chance that PWM will ever have service to LHR. Heathrow is one of the most constrained airports in the world and landing slots at LHR are EXTREMELY valuable for airlines. PWM doesn't have the demand to justify a Heathrow slotCurious, are there any developments for PWM >> LHR through British Airways still? Google isn't googling and I recall something around '21 or '22....
Ugh, as I suspected. A fella can dream though. I am surprised PWM hasn't landed a transatlantic flight yet tho. If PWM ever does get scheduled transatlantic service, it will most likely be with either Breeze or Icelandair. There were rumblings a couple years ago about Icelandair operating a 2-3x weekly summer seasonal service to KEF with their 737-MAX similar to the service they offer to Halifax.
Breeze has also hinted at possible transatlantic service and could use PWM has a "mini-hub" for A220's flying to KEF, DUB, or one of London's secondary airports (Gatwick or Stansted probably) Although I personally think they'll start off using PVD as a transatlantic base first.
They would need the full FIS facility to make that happen, and that's now on the back burner due to the pressure to expand the parking garage instead of building a new remote lot. The Jetport is officially international, but in practice that means that they have to bring Passport Control and Customs in from downtown to service those flights, which is really only practical for small craft in emergency situations.Ugh, as I suspected.
