Rise Together has acquired a number of properties in and around Sullivan Square. The proposed three phase development seems to include approximately 10 buildings, and according to Rise Together's website, 2,600,000 square feet of development.

I believe One Mystic is part of this development and is already in the Article 80 process. The LOI for the first phase, which includes a number of other parcels, was submitted recently and can be found here:

That looks great. Sullivan Square is overdue for development.
 
Incredible! Just incredible what Greater Boston is becoming - - - the biggest science center on earth!!!!! Very proud of what's happening in Sullivan Square/Somerville/AllstonBrighton/Chelsea/NorthPoint/Seaport etc.

13 acres now, eventually 40 acres to be developed.

I love that they carefully rendered the disused lot full of shipping containers at 10 Alford / 570 Main, which is apparently remaining. It's interesting how much this extends along Cambridge/Washington into East Somerville - they might face community pushback on building on the north side of the street (the skinny building that wipes out the Dunks/Speedway), or replacing the building that contains Tavern at the End of the World.

It's such a vast proposal that you can get lost in the little details like that pretty easily. Like I feel like we could have a whole thread just about the little bit of it on the East Somerville side of 93, and that's only one piece of the whole.

Overall this seems kind of... good? I'd like to see more bike lanes in there I guess? Maybe the residential/commercial mix is a little commercial tilted? (Insert snarky comment here about Boston snatching up all the commercial tax base while letting Somerville do all the work providing housing.)
 
Hopefully there can be sustainable and fairly-priced retail space in this area to also contribute to Sullivan Square having a nice and desirable commerce development too 😃

don't think its snarky at all.
It seems mad to me that one city might build this by one t station while another city with a new t station 10 mins away will build a new police and fire station on it's doorstep.

Assuming your talking about Somerville, its worth noting they're also getting 3,700,000 sqft of development between US2 and Boynton Yards. When you get 5 brand new opportunities for TOD at once, not every one is going to be a home run.

It's really a trade anyways, the old Public Safety building must die so US2 can live.

The Tavern at the End of the World is technically in Boston, right? Kind of interesting that the locals in E. Somerville may not actually have much say over what happens to that parcel if it's outside their city's jurisdiction.

Speedway's also technically in Boston per Google Maps and not Somerville.
 
Yes, as far as I can tell, everything proposed here in on the Boston side of the line. In some cases (the Tavern building, the Boston Paper Board building) they're pretty close to the city line, so I assume that's deliberate.

The city line between Boston and Somerville here is slightly misrepresented on google maps, fair warning. The actual line basically follows Crescent Street.

An attempt was made to put this project over to where the Southwest Corridor is now. That was in the early '70's. What in the Sam Hill makes them think that it might work now? Emminent domain, like before when innocent people were displaced with nowhere else to move to?!! :unsure:

Oh you know only that the 70's was half a century ago and a lot has changed in that time.
