Salem MA Developments

The Commonwealth selected the development team, as this is state-owned land which will be sold on project completion to the two developers. Avalon gets to do all new construction. Winn will do adaptive re-use of existing buildings, and presumably receive historic preservation tax credits.. See the five existing buildings listed for adaptive re-use in the table below. A high percentage of the units in the Winn-developed land parcels will be AMI 'affordable'.

Grade school architecture has taken on a life of its own in New England. This seems to be region-specific.
