I don't think Lechmere is *that* far down the O'Brien highway that a infill station would make sense. As much as I think the distances could make sense for an infill station, the surrounding land uses - the new GLX yard, BET, the commuter rail lines, only the tiny corner of the Cambridge Crossing - don't seem to make much sense for that kind of investment, yet. Who knows, if MBTA relocates some of BET's functions further outside the core or around the network (in an NSRL future or 20-40 years down the time highway), perhaps they'd sell off some of that land to do some more development and maybe get a station out of it?I wonder if this is followed by other buildings if it could potentially justify an infil stop at/before the junction behind what is now Sav-Mor

Ladies and Gentleman, I present you the very definition of an "Optimistic and Brave Developer".
Definitely, but we should be commending the developer for attempting this. This is the kind of stuff the snowballs and 10-15 years from now you will barely remember it being an industrial wasteland.
Two Friends groups are proposing that the developers build a ramp to connect the Community Path with the future Grand Jct.Path, see this conceptual report: http://pathfriends.org/scp/FinalStudy/CPX_Connection_Study_200601_Report-small.pdfI'd love to see that too, but I wonder if the GLX supports rule it out. Can't put that on this developer (and their planned driveway could theoretically be repurposed as a public way later - I don't think the actual building will be in the way).
Posts #26, 27, and 28 are in the wrong thread, right? I got so confused when the thread suddenly warped to Revere.
See this Feasibility Study on the ramp we want the developers to build to connect the CommPath, McGrath and the future Grand Jct. Path: http://pathfriends.org/scp/FinalStudy/CPX_Connection_Study_200601_Report-small.pdflet's get rid of mickey deez
To be honest, I think that wholeRufo/MCgrath-Obrien thing could be dramatically changed in an infra project in the relatively near future.
I also wonder about the CP connection to McGrath/Obrien and the eventual Grand Junction path.
We will have a new sign and a new location at 325 Canal Street, Assembly Row. Same snark.i'll certainly miss the ridiculous jokes on the big SAV-MOR sign.
We deliver! http://savmorspirits.com/shop-online-somerville/yeah, but that's not right next door to my gym
If you love something...let it go. If it reappears a bit smaller at our new Assembly Row Location, it must be love.Maybe Sav-Mor gets the same treatment as the Citgo sign? Cultural icon protected by law, or whatever (please don't actually tell me how the Citgo sign is protected... I don't care).
Sub question, would it be better for
1. The new property manager of the future building be legally required to come up with quips that must meet a defined comedic standard, or
2. A Master of Quippery be appointed by the City Manager who is required to present monthly updates to the Mass Cultural Council?
you should take another shot from the exact same spot in 2024. It'll be all cleaned up and wiped of any character.I took this in September 2014 and honestly it's one of my favorite shots I've ever taken. Just a bright colorful day with all that glorious signage.
