Nice that they are doing this. Haven't seen any other projects do this.

Getting excited for this building, amenities and units look really nice. Will definitely checking them out when the leasing office opens.

Back of the Hill is elderly housing with an affordable component. Think it was built in the 90s. Definitely poor metal panel design.

Steel frame is up for 35-South Huntington... Is there a separate thread for that? Also looks like Goddard house will start construction soon.

The metal panels were added about 7 or 8 years ago. The facade used to be painted concrete, I believe.

Really nice development. So, how did this development get built without neighborhood opposition (I saw nothing about opposition on this thread) while other developments in other neighborhoods are either downsized or blocked due to neighborhood opposition. What magic went on here?

1) It's in an area that desperately needs more housing;
2) Most of the abutting properties are rentals or institutions;
4) The nearby Brookhouse and VA Medical Center buildings are just as tall as this.

And the BRA actually ended up doing a whole corridor planning study a few years ago in response to the multiple developments that were planned for South Huntington:

This one really flew up. Looking forward to the leasing office opening next month. Anyone else excited about this project?

Hope the retail they put in brings some life to that neighborhood too.

With the project at the end of S Huntington and the Samuel's one about to go, this corridor is getting a ton of action. Definitely needs shops and restaurants though. Hopefully Children's in Brookline Village puts in some ground floor retail.
