Renovation and addition to Somerville's existing high school building originally built in 1895 and renovated in 1986. Plans call for renovations of 82,700 square feet of the existing building, partial demolition, and addition of nearly 322,000 square feet.
The new campus will provide a state-of-the-art, innovative, and nurturing learning environment for nearly 1,600 students. Construction will be completed in phases as classes will remain in session during the project.
while they're at it, hopefully they at least paint city hall, which looks shittier than the crappy shack my building keeps its lawnmower in.
Very impressive. As someone who has recently worked at a school during major construction, it’s also probably a total shitshowThe low blue building is the block of temporary classrooms they added. Even with that they've had to move some things; my son gets bussed to another location for his last class of the day. Kind of impressive how they're pretty much rebuilding the whole school in place while it's in active use.
