Where's the progress?
Doesn't look terribly promising for the pedestrian.
I went there before. Didn't explore too much, but stayed over night, used train to get into NY city. The city feels way to "corporate" for lack of better term. Like every building is an office building with little to no people ever walking around casually. Again, I was only there for like two days and part of the time in NYC so... But it is a different place. Not horrible though. They need more shops I think and needs to be less car dependent developments to get more ped. friendly sidewalks. All the sidewalks felt sterile to me.
They're doing it wrong. What else can you say after seeing those pictures?
Did you notice any mixed use new construction in Harbor Point? I was looking on google maps recently and was surprised by what appeared to be a lack of ground floor retail.
Most of the storefronts were occupied this time around and the neighborhood is now more lively compared to a few years ago. The last phase of the development still hasn't broken ground yet and didn't look like that was going to change in the coming months. The Streets are better pedestrian wise but still need some upgrades ...I was almost hit crossing the street and a saw a few near misses Downtown...its too easy to speed.Did you notice any mixed use new construction in Harbor Point?
