Doesn't look terribly promising for the pedestrian.
Its a bloody mess , very unfriendly...Stamford in General is messy. They have improved some streets but have lagged on others....ie Most of the Downtown. Their Streetcar and Station upgrade programs are on hold due to city hall fighting....

I went there before. Didn't explore too much, but stayed over night, used train to get into NY city. The city feels way to "corporate" for lack of better term. Like every building is an office building with little to no people ever walking around casually. Again, I was only there for like two days and part of the time in NYC so... But it is a different place. Not horrible though. They need more shops I think and needs to be less car dependent developments to get more ped. friendly sidewalks. All the sidewalks felt sterile to me.

They're doing it wrong. What else can you say after seeing those pictures?

Yea , its very sterile and tacky except for a few streets in Downtown...there trying to change the city from Auto centric to Transit centric but there not doing it right and the residents think they are.... They can't see that Stamford has issues with Pedestrian safety...and sidewalk size. I don't even consider a real city...

Its pretty bad , US 1 is like a Speedway...95 cuts the Downtown in half....theres only a few quiet streets with wide sidewalks.

Thanks for sharing these photos, Nexis4jersey.I've always been aware that Stamford exists but have never seen photos of it or really heard anyone mention it. I agree with the observations that it feels very "corporate" and "sterile." Since this thread is focusing on a specific part of the city, I assume there are some historic sections of the city as well with a more healthy urban fabric.

For what it's worth, I think this new building isn't terrible despite being surrounded by parking lots:
