Id love to see them add some streets inside the west end to open it up for access by the rest of the city.

Access isn't restricted at all, so I'm not sure what adding streets would do other than add cars to one of the few places in the area where one can walk and feel like you're part of an urban oasis (despite the entire area feeling a touch run-down).

Just because it isn't legally restricted doesn't mean the current design doesn't create the sense that this area isn't accessible.
 
Martha Rd and Lomasney Way are already one-way streets, so I think the proposed street addition would mostly serve as a second access point for cars coming off Storrow Drive. It would also cut through the garden behind Amy Lowell, bisect Thoreau path, and require the removal of the parking garage in front of Hawthorne apartments.

Was just gonna say that. Grass lawns are an environmental disaster. At least do some more landscaping with trees or native grasses, sheesh. That's just gonna be used as a place for dogs to go to the bathroom.

The wide-angle shot makes the lawn look larger than it actually is, but I agree they should have landscaped it like the rest of the surrounding area. It is next to a fenced in dog run, so hopefully it isn't instantly ruined with dog pee.

I'm with you here. If I would do anything it is copy-pasting the Appleton bridge onto the end of the Thoreau path over Storrow. It would begin a more natural a natural pathway from the Charles waterfront to the Triangle-North End, which is severely lacking in pedestrian-scale connectivity.
 
In just about every way this is a big success: a handsome tower replacing what was mostly a nowhere space; some street presence created where it was previously nonexistent; a beautiful new public park; and a great outdoor space for those who get to live in what can rightly be called a premiere residence.
