"The Dakota is a unique building in a spectacular location. The stunning 4-story, Victorian-style building will reflect the architectural features of the immediate neighborhood. Located in the heart of Davis Square. Offering shops, cafes, restaurants, entertainment, and the MBTA Red Line. These stunning 14-unit condominiums will offer your choice of 2 or 3 bedrooms with 2 baths and high-end luxury finishes and features throughout." ~ Dakota Partners

This is a lot surrounding an MBTA vent shaft. Previous versions of this proposal have been controversial because they were much larger and involved substantial digging under neighbors' properties. I don't understand why they want to name it after a famous building in NYC, which it does not resemble.

I'd call it "edge of Davis Square", not "heart of".

^the company is called dakota partners, so they are naming it after themselves

it looks like a retirement home

seriously! the original proposal was a handsome set of balconied rowhouses (sorry, i don't have the rendering), but it was nixed. something to do with a tree.
