Manhattan wouldn't be the Manhattan of today without the 800+ acres of central park.
Boston can afford to try to keep shadows off its 100 acres in the middle of the city. A city is defined by its people, not its buildings. Boston would not be a great city without the Boston Common and Boston Public garden. London, Paris, New York... the great cities have great parks which people protect with their lives.
My BackYard is also a park if you think about it, and that's why I say to all towers: Not In!
--every resident of the West End.
We can agree to keep some places sacred, like the Common and Public garden, but not every patch of grass is a park, or else this joke becomes a reality.
This is a logical fallacy. Name one park that people don't go to because there are too many shadows.
Post Office Square (Leventhal Park) is one of the most popular and most loved in all the city, and it is SURROUNDED by tall buildings (which also happen to provide the people who patronize this park.)
