Yesterday evening the Everett ZBA gave final approval to The Sofia (380 2nd Street).

Height: 239’ (21 stories)
Gross Square Footage: 676k sq. ft.
Units: 624 apartments (245 studios, 241 1-beds, and 138 2-beds)
Car Parking: 450 spaces
Bike Parking: 652
Retail: 8,448 sq. ft.

I like this project. Building looks cool. I wonder what the timeline for this to get built. Based on the location of this project, I assume some of the other developments around this project would have to get going, to entice prospective renters and buyers.
 
This looks great, especially if the Silver Line is extended along 2nd street the way they show in the slides. Is that definitely happening, or is it presumptive for the developer to show it that way?

Developers said something like an 18-24 month construction timeline from groundbreaking. So a realistic completion date could be Spring 2025.

I still hold out hope that one day the SL will be extended along the CR tracks at least to the casino, and while probably never gonna happen, perhaps on a bridge next to the CR to link up to Sullivan. An extension northwest into Everett wouldn't preclude that, tho.
