Phased Redevelopment Project

“The Planning Board will hold a continued hearing for site plan review and a traffic presentation for the Brookline Housing Authority’s proposed redevelopment project at its Walnut/High Apartments.

The site is part of the newly created zoning overly district, part of the MBTA-CA changes. The 181-unit proposal includes two buildings to be developed in phases.

Phase 1 includes demolition of three structures, 4-12, 16-24 and 28-42 Walnut Street, and construction of a five- to six-story 95-unit building at the northeastern edge of the property - a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom units, as well as eight 4-bedroom townhouses.

Phase 2 includes demolition of 22 High Street with construction of a five- to six-story building, with 85 units - a mix of 1, 2 and 3- bedrooms, as well as underground parking.”
