Don't worry, until the State really ramps up the penalties on the MBTA communities law, nothing will be built in Weston.

Somewhat similarly, Princeton is investigating what it would need to do to comply with the law. One option is forgoing the funding tied to compliance, since they don’t make use of the funds.

If anything, getting labs built will ensure it won't be turned into Residential. It's also basically in Newton.

“The state Housing Appeals Committee recently ruled that Weston, a town far from meeting its minimum state requirement of having 10% of its housing units be affordable, has to allow construction of an apartment building that locals have been fighting for years as the "Weston whopper" - a four-story, 180-unit building with 45 affordable apartments and 293 parking spaces on a 9 1/2-acre parcel that would also include a pool, a playground and separate dog areas for small and large breeds……..”

Hmm, that actually doesn't look half bad for Weston. Shades of suburban London crescent (in form, at least). Or, closer to home, somewhere like Mt. Bowdoin Green or Wellesley Park in Dot.

...Too bad its in the middle of the damn woods, so it's just one of those developments that combines the worst part of urban living (less space) with the worst part of suburban living (the autocentric isolation).
