Unfortunately, the HLS building is not even well-executed fascist architecture. Seeing it on the same page as that Mussolini centerpiece almost makes it look like it was crossed with City Hall's architectural DNA to create a Brutalist-Fascist hybrid.
 
If memory serves correct this was commissioned and approved by then Harvard Law School Dean and current Supreme Court justice Elena Kagan. There is an imperiousness to it that does nothing to dispel anyone's fear of the potential of the law to steamroll citizens.

There's no doubt that HLS produces a plethora of scum. We hand them their asses regularly in Housing Court. That aside, the building is beautiful.

Yep. I always thought of it as Kagan's Castle or Kagan's Kremlin.

BU East was more of a swing and a miss than anything. And even so once the trees grow in, some weathering and patina develops, and they build something on the parking lot facing Kenmore Square it will blend right into the background, which I believe was their intent.

800 Huntington though, absolutely.
