Yeah, continually trying to tie local development issues to completely unrelated national political issues gets old after awhile.

It is OK if you can coherent case for it, but I really can't follow the train of thought from DTX to Michelle Obama & GM.

I believe we need to build this project at all costs and forget my negative posts about Politics and Developers. There are a couple of options.
? Force the developer to sell the project or attract another equity partner to finish this project. If this option is even possible. Depends how deep their pockets run.
? Use city funds for a fixed rate loan from the city then sell the loan to the market to private investors.

Who do we get to do the forcing? Michelle Obama? Some other socialist?

Most people saw this downturn in the credit markets coming fast.

Too bad "most people" didn't include Alan Greenspan.

The price control is coming from the Federal Reserve. That is a secret socialist plot. It's called a bank bailout. The TARP money sure never found it's way to FILENE's project even when they had a Fish & Richardson almost signed on the dotted line.

1."socialist reform" is an oxymoron much like "compassionate conservativism"
2.The Road to Serfdom is fairly accurate and much like the humorously illustrated Red Primer, it should be taken seriously.
3.Mr. I got all the little shiny pins from the Young Pioneers here and went off to join to anti-'imperialist' Soviet Forces in his misspent youth agrees TheRifleman started his whole argument off base without any foundation.

I don't think this warrants a new thread. Creating a new thread with a title for the sole purpose of ridiculing or mocking a forumer doesn't make this forum any better. I know Rifleman said something out of line but if somebody like Ned didn't get a thread that pokes fun at him (not that I am asking for one), I don't think Rifleman should be subjected to this.
