The New Retail Thread

I don't think the site is big enough for a regular Market Basket store. Fresh Market is a good guess.

Reason I suggested WF (or someone...) moving is that it seems like a crowded market for supermarkets there. Even Yuppie ones.

Whole Foods just renovated their Framingham location a mile from Shopper's World. I doubt the Shopper's World supermarket will be a Whole Foods.

Wilder (the folks behind Arsenal Yards and Rock Row) seem to have bought Gravestar's entire portfolio, including Porter Square Shopping Center, Brookline Plaza, and Auburndale Plaza, all of which could be good TOD locations.

Hey @Gameguy326 , I thought of your above post when I stumbled on this nicely updated and consolidated retail space listing encompassing all of the MIT Kendall Gateway project:

A few points therein (assuming the named gray slots are leased, the unnamed red slots are open):
- CVS seems to be confirmed for the big corner slot @ 238 Main St.
- Something called "Locke Restaurant & Bar" occupies another slot along Broad Canal way (north side of NoMa)
- Row 34 (as reported above) confirmed for 314 Main st.

Beyond that, a ton of open retail slots being marketed.

^Something we were discussing already in the MIT/Kendall Gateway Site 4 thread, apparently a big enough deal to warrant a globe article:

Looks like Shake Shack is coming to the Pru. (across from DD).

Raising Cane’s going in the former Forum spot on Boylston street

What an odd choice for this location. Never would have thought the neighborhood would allow for more fast food, especially in such a prominent spot.

Follow-up: is the food here any good? I meant to check it out at the BU location when I lived over there, but never got around to it.

Doesn't matter. That space has been empty since 2013. Let's fill it!

2015* but I don’t get why they finally chose to build a Boston proper location after Chick-Fil-A (the better chicken joint) recently opened their first Boston location a few blocks away

I know it's brand is centered around tequila but it would be cool if they could incorporate Boston's rum trade history. It was what put Boston / New England on the industrial map in the 1700's. Also, I learned at Margaritaville Universal FLA that a shot of rum in the neck of a Corona is very tasty!

Opening or already open at The Superette (Echelon Seaport)...

Retail
: Faherty, Mack Weldon, Injeanius, Interior Define, Framebridge, Lucid, Alo Yoga, Vince, Todd Snyder, Le Labo, Levi's

Food/Drink: The Garret, Puttshack

This was the second advisory review for the proposed project at 7 Newbury St., which is to install a two-story addition to the existing storefront, and in the rear, construct an addition for an elevator. It also includes the renovation of the existing roof for an egress, terrace, and HAVAC equipment, as well as infill windows with black architectural panels. The tenant moving in is Long’s Jewelers, along with Patek Philippe, a luxury watch retailer.
